The only problem might be if you want to record midi for the virus itself; It will be sending midi, sounding, and recieving midi from Logic again, unless you disable the midi-out from logic to the Virus whilst recording.
Note that the iConnectivity USB-MIDI Host port is designed so that it can operate as a MIDI interface even without having a computer connected.. However that means it can only pass MIDI information - you cannot use it as a normal USB port, or pass audio data via it.. Is there a MIDI chart of the unique MIDI conrol messages that the EWI5000 sends and is it possible to change them? What is the range of CC that EWI can send? I have a Waldorf Blofeld module, in the mod matrix you can choose 'breath' as source and use it to influence lots of parameters.

If you connect the midi-thru on the Virus to the Waldorf midi-in, the Virus will also send midi coming from logic to the Waldorf.. It is also an advanced librarian tool that allows you to view, edit, arrange and manage all the Parameter, Program, Bank and Multi Program data on.
